The Euterpe Media Server is just a single small binary. There is no need to deal with webserver extensions for dynamic languages, running databases or copying source files around!
Euterpe has very small footprint so it could easily co-exist with many other services on the same machine. It values your RAM and CPU as much as you do. So it lets you have it for yourself.
All common file formats which you might have will be no problem for Euterpe. This includes (but is not limited to) mp3, flac, ogg, oga, wav, m4a.
Album artwork and artists' images could be autmatically downloaded from the internet or curated by you manually. So that you could see your favourite faces and familiar covers while listening to this great tune.
The Euterpe server, UI and clients have been in development and constant use since 2013. They’ve seen a lot of what the real world has to throw at them!
Comprehensive and simple API make sure there are many different clients for your media server. The backward compatibility guarantee makes sure anything you’ve set-up to work with your Euterpe will continue to do so.
Access your favourite music frome anywhere you might be! Don’t let it stay neglected on the dusty hard-drives at home. And since you are using the music you already own there are no regional blocks or restrictions.
Support artists by buying their music directly. Spend your money on the people actually creating. Instead of paying to tech giants with unknown deals and questionable business practices.
All the Euterpe ecosystem is open-source. If you need something there is a clear way how you could achieve it. No matter however niche or unprofitable for a big company.
Euterpe does not track you. It never will. Your listening habbits will not be used by unknown people to make money from.
By owning your music data you cannot lose access to it. Propriatery streaming services die or even worse - disable paying accounts. Do not throw your money into the wind. Instead build a lasting collection of music.
You could connect as much devices as you would like. Unlike propriatery offerings which typically limit the number or devices. The only limit is how much could handle the computer you’re running it on. This could hundreds or thousands of devices for very modest hardware. Nimble, told ya!
